Connection architecture
Farweo uses its server to authenticate devices and coordinate each session. Screen, input, file, clipboard, and audio traffic then use encrypted WebRTC channels, connecting directly when possible and using a TURN relay when needed.

Security and authentication
Access starts with credentials created during deliberate host setup. The session is authenticated before remote-control channels open.
Session authentication
A challenge-response flow using HMAC verifies access without sending the saved password as a reusable secret.
Encrypted transport
WebRTC protects the live screen, control, audio, clipboard, and file-transfer channels in transit.
Explicit installation
The host requires administrator approval, generates its access details during setup, and is installed under Program Files.
Host deployment
Setup.exe provides a consistent installation path for every remote PC.
- Requests Windows administrator approval.
- Installs the Farweo Host service under Program Files.
- Registers the service to start automatically with Windows.
- Displays the generated Host ID and password after registration.
- Runs in service mode so support can continue through Windows approval screens.
Session capabilities
Desktop & input
View the remote desktop and send mouse and keyboard input, including on secure desktop prompts.
File transfer
Browse, send, receive, and follow transfer progress over a dedicated data channel.
Clipboard sync
Move text, rich content, images, and clipboard files between the host and viewer.
Device signals
View online status, CPU, memory, disk, uptime, pending restarts, and recent activity.
System requirements
Farweo Host
Windows x64. Administrator access is required for the initial service installation.
Farweo Console
Windows x64. The viewer is portable and does not require installation.
